  1. I admire your guts. Your family will go a long
way. I am 79. When My family was young I could
upholster the furniture make drapes, curtains
clothing. Including my husbands suits (I started
sewing for pay at 12 years of age) I had four sons and they helped in the canning, I liked
the freezer but did not trust the electrical
power all that much so canned many veggies. I two paid cash for my last 4 cars it is liberating. Good Luck to you.

  3. If I had to walk out of the house in any of those clothes I'd get a job and at least earn enough to shop at a thrift store.

    2. Thanks for your amazing insight and inspiring us all with your Ph.D. in internet commentary. /rolls eyes

It's a damn good thing that you don't have to leave the house or get a job because something tells me that it would be pretty hard for someone who constantly drools as much as you evidently do.

Why is it that those with the least brain power always seem to have the most to say?

  4. I think you are doing an awesome job. Most people can't even sew holes in their socks straight.

  5. Too cool! I love seeing what other people do, particularly when it comes to upcycling anything! My mom made clothes out of anything she could, for us 15 kids! (Same Mom & Dad, no twins, all on purpose!) Anyway, Mom is so incredible, I admire her so much for managing to feed & clothe us all! In 6th grade, she made a red white and blue sheet into a skirt for me. It was pretty funny when the cutest guy in school said he liked my skirt. Then he said he thinks he has a pillow case at home that looks a lot like it! Luckily, I have a sense of humor, and wasn't embarrassed. I was thrilled to have a new skirt! Most of my growing up years I only had anywhere from 1 to 3 pair of pants, and a Sunday dress or skirt & blouse, and shirts were often hand me downs, homemade, or grandparents took pity on us & bought t shirts for us! Anyway, I love seeing your creativity, thanks for sharing! Besides, your description of your sewing room & hissy fits when things don't go how you want them too, sounds a LOT like ME! LOL! (Effexor helps me not be quite as volatile, even though I just take the generic form, venlafaxine, because it's cheaper. It helps a LOT!

  8. Maybe I am blind but I don't see a thing wrong with any of the items that were made. All I see wrong are mean hearted people who think nothing of hurting other people.

  9. Amy, I am sadden to read about you taking a break, I can't believe the nerve of some of these people leaving comments "anonymously" with the intent of hurting or belittling someone else's work.

First, let me say this to "anonymous," you don't even know what your talking about because otherwise you would realize the amount of work it takes to create/do these projects, let alone the blogging work involved. Second, if you ("ANONYMOUS") are so brave and knowledgeable, why aren't identifying yourself?

Its easy to be a mean bully when no one know who you are, isn't it? Get a life, at least Amy is contributing something useful to society, what are you doing? Picking your ass on the couch, as you bully others?

    1. Thank you for your very nice comment. I hope to be back one day when I have the time to put full effort into this blog. As of right now I don't and I don't want to half ass anything. It's people like you that made me happy to turn on my blog every day. Thanks again!

  10. A national newspaper directed me to your site for a homemade laundry soap recipe but I can't find it on your site. Any chance you can repost it? If they sent me to your site in error please accept my apology for bothering you. :-)
