About Me

Welcome to my blog. If you have started following me you have no idea how much I appreciate it. I have been blogging for a little over a year now with no luck. I have just started to have some success when I changed my blog name to Sewing Room Screaming and found my niche in writing. I write what I say. Yes I come up with complete random shit in normal everyday conversation. Most people think I'm weird. My best friends love that about me.  I hope you will too.
Here are some run on sentences about me:
I am 24 years old, I am divorced and I live in a van down by the river. If you know what this referring to you will fit in nicely here.
Actually I have been married for almost 2 years to my best friend who is referred here as JB. His name is John and the b is for John Boy. (Walton's reference)
I like Dolly Parton. Alot.
I like pickles....No I am not pregnant.
Pink is my favorite color but I hardly have any pink clothes to prove it.
I don't have a favorite type of music. I listen to it all from Adele to ZZ Top. Did you notice I said Dolly Parton up there so yea I like country too. Even that old timey shit. Hank Williams Sr., Buck Owens, Merle Haggard, and Conway Twitty are my favorite in that department.
I cuse A LOT. I don't mean to offend anyone and I'll try my best to keep it down.
Grammar Nazi's beware I no speak grammar good here.
I love love love movies. Not sappy romance comedies (although I will admit to a few of them. Jb's favorite is My big fat Greek Wedding) I quote movies non stop just to see if any one around me get's them.
I am a potterhead above a twihard. I am team Edward though. Above both of these I am a Trekkie and proud of it. Live long and prosper bitches.
I started sewing last year with the aide of my godmother and now I can't stop.
I only do about one project a week- if your lucky. I have a life, and a full time job so it's hard to keep up with this but I will do my best.
I have two cat's, Mario and Luigi, and a beagle named Rosie. Mario will most likely be the main one pictured because he is my favorite.
Mean comments and hate mail will NOT be tolerated here. I know everyone has a right to there own opinion but being nasty is not necessary. I have enough self esteem issues without your help thank you.
Anywhoo please look at my stuff, comments are always appreciated.

Thanks!
Happy blogging!

Love the Walton's and van down by the river ref... sure you're only 24!?!? I'm 32, hubby's 36... he doesn't remember the Walton's. What gives!?

Anyhoo... keep up the entertaining writing style. I love it.

  3. You are freakin hilarious! I recently started a blog, mostly sewing and upcycling for the home and kids .....and I was considering adding a little weekly challenge a lot like what you are doing, revamping outfits for myself. Your site is great and honest. I'll be lurking for a while.

  8. Just came upon your blog...so true what you said about mean people. Don't like it, don't read it! And we wonder why kids bully... look at how mean the adults are. Anyway, you are too cute. Don't let the haters change the beautiful person you are!

  9. I'm not good at english either, but what really upsets me is that a few people think it is funny to bash someone that don't do things like they do. Please don't let those few spoil it for all those that you help get thru hard times with your money saving tips. Do you know how many peoples lifes that you have touched and help get thru some very rough times????

For those people that must make the rude comments, and thier opinion..... well thier opinion only means something if we value it which we don't so please don't let it bother you.

What you are doing is so good for so many don't let those few spead to hurting more by making you stop.

God Bless You and your family.

  10. Oh what a coincidence...My husband is Jon and goes by Jon Boy. My favorite singer is Dolly! Grew up on the old country music thanks to Dad, but still enjoy it, as does the husband. Glad to happen upon your blog.

  15. I just wanted you to know that I "visited" because of the dreaded "laundry detergent" link. Thanks for the laughs-love it when women can quote movies. (It seems to be a "guy" thing). You are a Gilmore girl and Michelle Sims rolled in one. I LOVE the "old lady" jacket that became a skirt. I think I had an unworn "Maid of Honor" suit similar to it in the early '90's. Oy...thanks SO much. You made my dreary day less rain soaked.

  16. so sorry you 'may' be quitting -- if nothing else, you are one FINE looking lady - curvy ! yeah, "sexist", but true, and you can not deny the truth -- btw, if you know you are misspelling, that's okay -- if not, you should do something to improve your skills -- that is not 'mean' advice, just constructive criticism for one who bothers to care about you! good luck in your endeavors, whatever you do ...

  18. I stumbled on your website to see if the laundry detergent recipe was any better than the ones I've tried, but I am totally digging your blog! You should put up adverts and enjoy the extra press :) I love the Star Trek shot. I'm a BSG girl myself and have one of the shits just waiting on my dogtags!

  19. Same as above ^^^^

Also ended up her for the laundry soap.

I am also a trekki and a Nintendo fan... but not an SNL fan, though I did get your quote.
I'm still exploring here but I have a feeling I'll be sticking around. Your projects look awesome. I can also relate with avoiding pictures. I was 170lb this time last year, now i'm down to 130lb. Weight loss can be an wonderful and exciting journey. Keep it up!

  20. Hi Amy Kay!
I read your post about mean comments and I was really sad... I had problems with my weight, but just on the opposite way: I was too skinny! Everybody told me to eat more, until I was REAL addult (about 39 years! I'm currently 43 - not long ago)! It annoyed me, because as much as I eated I couldn't gain weight! But I had no health problems, it was just my body structure! Anyway I had a depression and got a lot skinny because I no longer felt hunger. But I went to a LADY doctor that helped me a lot! I used to wear size 4 (see how skinny I was?), but now I wear size 6, and people stop annoying me with my weight issue! Has I'm only 5'2 foot (I'm "petite"), now I look normal! SO, what I'm trying to say is: DON'T GIVE A SHIT ABOUT THOSE COMMENTS!!!
Keep your journey with lost weight, and then upcycle your clothes! There's a Blogger (Carissa) that had the same issue, and now that she accomplished her goal, she's been upcycling her own clothes. See her Blog backwards and you will see what I mean! You need to read this: http://carissaknits.blogspot.pt/2013/02/new-me.html
I'm good at my native language (Portuguese) and others, but I suck at Maths (everybody is bad at something!)
I love your sense of humor! I am a very playful person! So, I make jokes all the time!
I was really sad when I read you can't have children... I have 2 and they are the love of my life! But there are SO MANY children out there to adopt (If I had money I would adopt a little girl I know that was abandonned when she was born...)! If you both want to be parents don't give up!
IN BRIEF: I LOVE YOU AND YOUR BLOG! So, keep on going!
    LOVE from Portugal!!!
